It’s hard to believe but this Jones is shaped out of agave stock, nothing but glued up plant fibers! This ultra light plant is similar in lightness to a normal polyurethane blank but a bit stronger like a balsa wood with less weight. This flatter rocker and chunky outline is a Southern California special, great for less than perfect waves whether it’s a little small or lacking in power. Its volume allows it to carry speed effortlessly and the fin set up adds drive and hold through turns. For hitting the lip on a more perfect wave, the tail is a little wide and can get hung up but if you’re on a softer wave it excels and can wrap carves and cutbacks all day long or crank a closeout section with reliable stability.
