The Magic Sam, the board that kicked the Transition Era into gear, was the trusty board ridden by Nat Young in the 1966 World Surfing Championships held in San Diego. In the height of the noseriding craze, the judges were blown away by Young's spunky, involved style as he carved cut backs, trimmed at high speeds, and snuck in tasteful steps and some nose time along the way. The Magic Sam was a thinner, narrower, soft railed, convex bottom log that allowed Young to surf in and around the pocket with more ease and played a huge role in the evolution of surfboard design. This is legendary shaper, Marc Andreini's interpretation of Young's famous log. Hand selected fin from Andreini included.
