9'0" Alex Knost BMT Noserider
Between recording albums, touring, going on surf trips, and running the Costa Mesa Conceptual Art Center, Costa Mesa's Alex Knost manages to squeeze in some time to shape some select sleds.
This longboard from Alex screams tail to nose surfing. At only 9'0", it is ultra lively and maneuverable. Alex placed the wide point behind center, as he does on all of his longboards, pulling in the nose and tail slightly, creating beautiful outline curves. The rails are a moderately foiled, making for a forgiving, yet speedy rail. Flip it over to find a deep single concave entry that extends about halfway down the board, where it transitions into a subtle rolled vee out the tail. Rocker is minimal, but does feature a slight flip in the tail for increased turning ability. Although it measures only 9'0", this little longboard excels from the nose and tail, especially in beach breaks, but will not shy away from a lined up point.
