7'6" Zack Flores Kazu Egg
7'6" x 21 1/16" x 2 15/16"
Zack Flores is a young rising star in the San Diego shaping world. Not only is his surfing style incredibly unique, but the boards he makes are also very functional for the many types of waves that exist in Southern California.
The Kazu Egg is a sweet user-friendly egg design that fits in right between a fish and a log. This thing works in everything! The outline is that of a classic egg: wide-point a touch forward with a slightly pulled in nose and tail. The rails on the Kazu are pretty full throughout, but become more pinched at the nose and tail. Zack placed a hard edge at the tail that extends along the rail to the dimensions, where it hooks in and blends into the bottom contour. Speaking of, the bottom consists of a flat entry, which flows into a slight single concave, then a double concave of similar depth, and finally flattens out through the tail. Like most of Zack's boards, the Kazu is relatively flat, but there is a touch of flip in the nose. Take the Kazu Egg out at any break and let it fly!
