7'3" Fineline Micro Ant III
7'3" x 22 1/4" x 3 1/8"
The Micro Ant III is hand shaped by the legendary Brian Hilbers of Fineline Surfboards and built for tasteful single fin shredding. Its outline is similar to an egg with a pulled in nose, round tail, and wide point roughly at center. The bottom contour is rolled from nose to tail for maximum water displacement accompanied by a subtle s-deck. The rails are foiled extremely thin with a nice amount of foam in the middle of the board, towards the fin the rails have a very tucked in hard edge. The rocker profile is low, subtle, and blended smoothly. This is a really great all around board that works in so many different types of waves small or large, punchy or soft. This is another Transition Era inspired shape so take a look at the excerpt from one of our favorite Transition Era films, Evolution, below for a good example of how Wayne Lynch generated the spark of inspiration that helped shapers like Hilbers develop more refined versions of what these cats were surfing almost 50 years ago.
