 ‘Long Fish’

From the shaper himself:

This shape is based off of Skip Frye’s 2nd ‘long fish’ he shaped in the early 00s that was nicknamed ‘redwing’. ‘Redwing’ was Richard Kenvins (The Hydrodynamica Project) and the surfing done by him on that board has inspired my approach immensely. The fish at this size solves a nice spot in a quiver when you want added range and trim speed to your traditionally sized fish in slopey reef surf (My go to for riding the inside right bowl at Old Mans) and can be pushed further into steeper down the line surf at small and big wave sizes (Malibu, Uppers, Baja point breaks). Also great for someone who rides longboards and wants a stepdown between riding a short fish. Utilizing each rail and double foiled keel that is placed far out on the rail allows for driving off each rail in a figure 8 type manner and when in the right wave you can do this without losing any speed and constantly drive and carve. Subtle roll entry into a concentrated noticeable single concave out the fins with a soft rail transitioning to a hard edge by fin area.  Glass on ply 8x5 Gep 2 Double foiled Keels & glass leash loop. Staying true to the San Diego ‘recipe’ and my attempt at honoring Skip Frye and Richard Kenvin. “Not too Much, Not too little”.
