Troy Elmore is a local shredder who lives and shapes in Costa Mesa. He's one of those kind of guys that can rip a diverse lineup of surfboards - logs, fishes, and everything in between. Troy's talents in the water correlate with his talents on land especially when it comes to shaping, he might be known best for his Skip Frye inspired fishes but he also excels at shaping midlengths and logs.
This new version of Troy's Frye'd Fish includes straight back Gephart style, double foiled fins as opposed to traditional Hobie style keels. The wide point of the board is pushed back slightly and the bottom contour has been updated to a more dramatic tri-plane hull that gives the board an incredible sense of liveliness and drive.

The Daydream Research Center curates a selection of boards that are best suited for intermediate or higher skill level. The design attributes of these boards can be difficult for those with less surfing experience to enjoy. For surfers who are just starting out, we highly recommend learning on surfboards that are designed for beginners and are happy to help point you in the right direction to find shops that have boards available for your needs. We want to create the best experience for our members and align them with boards that complement their skill level.
Day Pass Membership - This is a walk-in offer intended for folks that are not in the neighborhood who would like to have access to boards from the Research Center quiver that are not reserved for the day they visiting. Boards will need to be returned within 24 hours and Single Session.
Monthly Membership - Monthly Members of the Research Center are allowed up to a 3 day holding period for each board. Ongoing files will be kept to document the experimentation process, this can also be used for custom board ordering through the shapers we work with.
Extended Membership - Members have the same benefits as Monthly Members and are allowed holding periods of 7 days.
