11'0" Alex Knost BMT Glider
Between recording albums, touring, going on surf trips, and running the Costa Mesa Conceptual Art Center, Costa Mesa's Alex Knost manages to squeeze in some time to shape some select sleds.
This glider from Alex features a very narrow, wide point forward outline with a pulled in tail and nose. The rails are rather boxy and slightly turned down in the front two-thirds of the board and a hard edge is placed in front of the fin box all the way out the tail. The bottom of this glider features a slightly rolled entry, which transitions into a single concave that deepens through the middle of the board. At this point, the bottom contour is blended into a double barrel concave into the fin box where it flows into a vee through the rest of the tail. The board has minimal rocker, except for the nose where it flips up slightly. This glider includes a 3/4" stringer, four original BMT logos and a gloss finish.
