10'0" Fantastic Acid Parlementia
Tristan Mausse of Fantastic Acid is one of the premier hull shapers of today. He creates his own iterations of classic displacement hull designs, resulting in boards that are unlike any other. Tristan's boards are incredibly fast trimming machines that draw long lines on rail. As he is located in France, we were lucky enough to snag a couple of his shapes, which he made while he was recently in town!
Named after the beautiful spot in France, the Parlementia is a long hull built for this specific type of wave. Focused on the connected, rail engaged bottom turn feeling that regular displacement hulls provide, Tristan made this design for big soft waves; to maintain that feeling in larger surf that rolls with power. It features a long, stretched outline with a centered wide point, a full nose and rather pulled in diamond tail. The rails are soft and thick, but tapered in the front third of the board for a more pinched entry. Rocker is pretty minimal but there is a slight flip in the nose, and while the middle of the board is basically flat, there is also a small amount of kick in the tail. Drawing inspiration from design concepts made famous by Tom Blake, George Greenough, and Wayne Lynch, this board features a beautiful and unique glass on skeg.
