In the early days of surfing's Transition Era, George Greenough, Bob McTavish, Nat Young, Kevin Brennan, Ted Spencer, & Wayne Lynch, amongst others were the key members that ignited the shortboard revolution that spanned from roughly 1967 - 1969. These surfers were developing and riding boards that were thought to be radical deviations from the norm; they were constantly creating, destroying, and redevloping what the definition of "good surfing" could be. The 1967 surf film titled "The Hot Generation" by Paul Witzig documented the short lived popularity of one of the most physically and metaphorically pivotal board designs of surfing's Evolution Era, the Vee Bottom. Legendary shaping mad scientist, Brian Hilbers, the creator behind Fineline Surfboards, channeled inspiration from The Hot Generation's style to create a more refined Vee Bottom that possesses the versatility of a single board quiver. Hilbers's Hot Generation can trim at high speeds and has the ability to turn on a dime off the tail. There's also a considerable amount of fun to be had on the top half of this board weather you're high lining near the nose or trimming through sections sneaking in quick cheater fives. Fineline's Hot Generation can excel in small down the line surf or well overhead waves.
